The Nike Air Foamposite Pro ‘Pearl’ released last year as a House of Hoops Exclusive, and surely many Foamposite fanatics were left empty-handed and frustrated at resale prices. News of a re-release this year caused some excitement but many approached with caution due to the assumed limited availability like last year’s release, but the upcoming 2010 Retro release of the Pearl Foams should be one of wider distribution – Niketown, select Nike Basketball accounts and chain retailers included. The Air Jordan XI 25th Anniversary resembles the original Columbia XI colourway, but it isn’t an exact replica. First and foremost, the 25th Anniversary Jordan XI lacks a Jumpman logo on the usual heel, which is an aberration from the Air Jordan line as a whole. This colorway of the Air Jordan XI gets its nickname from the movie “Space Jam”, which starred Michael Jordan, Bugs Bunny, and a number of other NBA Superstars and Warner Bros. animated characters. In the movie, Michael Jordan wore this colorway of the Air Jordan XI in the final match-up to save his and the cartoons’ lives against the ‘Monstars’. While these aren’t an original colorway, the Space Jam XI stands as one of the most sought-after Air Jordan XIs in history; Not many pairs in pristine condition are available, but a deadstock pair will fetch more than any other pair of Jordan XI. On December 23, 2009, the Space Jam XI was finally retroed after a decade of anticipation and is without a doubt the biggest Jordan release since the original DMP in January of 2006. This colorway was also one of just two Air Jordan XI that was retroed that year.

The annual Air Jordan Motorsports Pack has been something that has heretofore been hands-off to the public. Both the Six Rings and Air Jordan VI (6) have been decked out in white leather with black soles and elephant print outlines on the sockliner. We thought they’d be like the others and only given to JM racers, but it turns out that JB is going to release the AJ6 in February ‘10. In case you didn’t notice, the Space Jam Air Jordan XI’s officially released at many retailers at midnight last night, and to say that people were willing to go to great lengths to get a pair is quite an understatement. In addition to the huge lines of people camped outside of sneaker stores across the country, there were also some folks that took matters into their own hands, breaking into at least two Foot Lockers to make sure to beat the crowds to their sizes. Hopefully, if you wanted a pair, you got them already, because by midday today, you’ll likely be out of luck. That’s just cos there aren’t very many autographed Collezione Packs in existence, much less available from a reputable retailer, complete with Upper Deck certification. Then again, we actually found these on Upper Deck’s store on the Japanese eMall, Rakuten, so it’s not at all conspicuous that they seem to have commissioned 23 autographed sets of each CDP. The 2/21, 3/20, 8/15 and 11/12 duos are all up for grabs, along with a ton of jerseys, balls, posters and other signed Jordan memorabilia.
